We are enjoying a new venture growing the kava plant. While we haven't had much of a chance to try the traditional Polynesian drink made from the roots, it is a beautiful and interesting plant none the less.
After checking with our State of Hawaii Dept. of Agriculture, I have found that we are allowed to send clean non-rooted cuttings to the mainland. We have a number of Hawaiian varieties and also some Samoan, Tongan and Papua New Guinea types.
If you are not familiar with growing and using kava I want to recommend this book put out by the Association of Hawaiian Awa called Hawaiian Awa Views of an Ethnobotanical Treasure. You can order the book here.
If you would like to grow some yourself we are offering 10 cuttings for $89.00 which includes taxes, agricultural inspection, growing directions and shipping (via Priority Mail) to anywhere in the USA. If you have a preference for certain varieties please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org either before or after ordering.
An example of the cuttings you will receive is in the slide show below
